National Press Club Mentor Program

The National Press Club’s mentor program was established in 2005 by then-NPC President Rick Dunham to give young members of the club the opportunity to receive individual attention from veteran print and broadcast journalists and PR industry specialists. Program participants also have access to specialized professional development and training classes, such as cultivating news sources, better writing and how to hunt for a new job.

Applications for this year’s class are being solicited and are open to all club members. The club also is looking for veteran journalists who are willing to volunteer their time next year as a mentor. The program requires meeting with a young journalist several times a year and being available at other times to answer questions and provide advice.

Inquiries about the program should be sent to Sarahanne Driggs at 202-662-7511.
